Basil, originally native to India, the Hindi name for basil is Tulsi, meaning “sacred”. The goddess Tulasi is thought to have manifested into the planet. The Greek word for basil means “king” and it is believed to have grown where St. Constantine and Helen discovered the Holy Cross.
